    Minister of Trade and Industry yesterday during receiving the final document of small and medium enterprises sector by the Japanese Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade.
     
     
     
     
    Saudi Arabia has received yesterday the final document of small and medium enterprises prepared by the Japanese experts after submitting a comprehensive study on the sector development in the Kingdom, proposing to rely on the seven policies for the advancement of such facilities, which will reflect positively on the national economy.
     
    Abdullah Zainal, Minister of Trade and Industry has received yesterday the official document from Terohiko Mashiko, Japanese Deputy Minister of Economy , Trade and Industry, in the presence of the Ministry of Commerce agents, and the accompanying delegation for the Japanese Deputy Minister.

    Zainal explained for «Al-Eqtissadiyah» that the document will spur sector financing small and medium-sized enterprises in the Kingdom, saying that the sector enjoy substantial support by the the Government and the Ministry of Trade in particular.
    He stressed on the importance of the cooperation between the Kingdom and Japan, noting that Japan has deeply examined the small and medium enterprises sector in the Kingdom, and provided some ideas on how to activate the sector.
     
    The final document of the policies proposed to rely on some of the policies as standards in which the Kingdom depends, including: encouraging business establishments, improving the managerial and technical capacities of small and medium enterprises, strengthening the financing of SMEs, encourage the cooperation between small and medium companies, identifying the needs on their own policies and starting the dialogue between the small and medium enterprises in the decisions related to the sector.

    During the occasion, the Minister of Commerce and Industry had a meeting with Mashiko where the two discussed ways to increase cooperation, especially in the development of human resources of the institutions supporting small and medium enterprises, as a next step for cooperation in development of small and medium enterprises.
     
    The Ministry of Trade and Industry has relied on scientific methodology in the development of sector policies small and medium enterprises, with the formation of the Study Group headed by Professor »Shigeru Matsushima» of Tokyo University of Science in Japan, which carried out three visits to the Kingdom of conducting field research began in October 2008.
     
    The Japanese group during the last period to work with his Saudi counterpart, through the implementation of a comprehensive study for the development of small and medium enterprises in the Kingdom through a detailed survey, field researches, and frequent visits to a number of related parties and workshops in: Jeddah, Riyadh , Dammam and Qassim.
     
    Therefore, Japan was selected for cooperation in this area, due to the successful experiences at the international level, where the proportion of firms small and medium in Japan more than 99 percent of the total number of companies, as it contains about 70 per cent of the workforce and 50 percent of the value added of manufacturing industries in Japan.

    Ministry has drew attention for its cooperation with the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry came in the framework of the industrial cooperation between the President and Minister of Japan and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and concluded in 2007 with the aim to develop policies for the sector of small and medium enterprises.
